Team member safety is one
of NUMMI’s cornerstones, part of our mission
statement and Company Goal #1. NUMMI has several
programs in place to ensure the safety of all team
members, contractors and visitors.
To make NUMMI a safer place to work, all team members
need to care about each other’s welfare and
look out for each other. NUMMI adopted five safety
values to serve as inspiration for this concept
and provide guidelines to help team members practice
safety on a daily basis.
- All injuries can be prevented.
- Line management is responsible
for preventing injuries.
- Training to work safely
is essential.
- A condition of employment
is working safely.
- Safety at work and at
home improves the quality of life.
NUMMI has also incorporated
the Safety Absolutes into every meeting:
- Safety is the overriding priority.
- All accidents can and must be prevented.
- At NUMMI, safety is a shared responsibility.
